As our vacation comes to a close, I am excited to share with you the wedding that we shot right before our time off. David was with his family at a concert celebrating his youngest brother's graduation, so the fabulous Rebecca made the trek with me to Jacksonville, NC to shoot Mandy and Paul's wedding!
So this world we live in is a small place. Mandy found me through a wedding I shot in August 2007. Once we got the ball rolling we figured out that her fiance's family had known David's family when the boys were little. Also, I get to the salon to get some pictures of the ladies getting ready, and as I am saying hello, Mandy's sister tells me that my voice is familiar, and how would she know me? Well, just a few weeks ago I was at Camp Mundo Vista taking all their staff pictures... well Mandy's sister was on staff! I love that she recognized me by my voice- those of you who know me well are not surprised by this.
It was a gorgeous, toasty day on the NC coast. It was a beautiful wedding... full of love and loving emotions. The tears and huge smiles of love were constantly shining as the day progressed. I love getting to witness all of those precious emotions and do my best to capture them to be savored forever!
These yummy pearls were Paul's wedding gift to Mandy! What good taste!
Couldn't pass up this "vintage" looking chair for the bride's shoes.
The girls flowers were nice and bright- just fabulous!
Mandy and her flowers...
A couple of her bride's maids and their flowers...
Mandy had the cutest two flower girls... this flower girl kept fussing over Mandy's veil and train.
Mandy and Paul got married in the Blue Creek Baptist, where Mandy's Dad is the head pastor. An associate minister officiated the service, while Mandy's father closed the service with praying a blessing over the new couple... not a dry eye in the house!
Yummy bling surrounded by glitter!!
OOOOOOO the colors...
Again, not a dry eye during the father daughter dance. You can see Mandy's mom to the left in the background... just beautiful.
NOTE TO ALL BRIDES: Please please please save a time during your wedding day to make sure you get some good pictures of you and your groom together. And by good I mean not just the traditional formal shot standing at the front of the church during the formal shots. I mean somewhere else that is more relaxed, more creative. You give me the time and I will find the place! Some couples like to have a "first look", opting to see eachother before the ceremony and then taking care of all the pictures so they can just scoot to the reception after the ceremony. Other couples allow time between the ceremony and the reception to not only take care of the formal pictures with family members and the wedding party, but also that time to get good shots of themselves together.
We had planned to get these pictures at the reception site before it started, but once at the reception decided to wait till the sun started setting and it wasnt quite so warm outside to sneek out of the reception and grab a few shots. I am SOOOO glad that we did! Check out some of the great stuff we got in just a few short minutes...
It's the end of the reception... why not lay on the ground?! :)
The light was sooo yummy... and so is this moment!
