Life Story: Sara's Journey

So many stories to tell! I love bringing you something a little different. I have known Sara since we were little girls, growing up together in the same church. Like I have done in a few other posts, I felt it was best for Sara to tell you all what brought about this beautiful shoot in downtown Raleigh and with her great love...

Sara writes:

"I knew this may not be the usual kind of shoot, but I had several reasons for wanting to go ahead with it. I wanted to prove to myself that I could do it, just for me, and I wanted some pictures to help me celebrate how far I've come. Until recently, I wasn't able to be comfortable in my own skin. I avoided any picture I could, and held myself back from things and events because of that. It was awful and confining and ridiculous. It took me a long time to let go of those insecure layers and begin to embrace what makes me unique. I think I will always have things I'm unsure about, but who I am is no longer one of them. This photo shoot was incredibly liberating, an amazing experience, and I am so glad that I had the courage to face my fear."
